How often does it happen that you have a private musical fireworks show in your backyard.....almost never! well, we had something close.... Today is July 4th, American Independence day and last night our city hosted musical fireworks..they claim is the best in the state of Indiana. Since I have not seen any other fireworks in Indiana, I have to go by their claim.
Its defenitely got to be atleast one of the best, as Jeff Saturday of Indiana Colts, American football team came to see the fireworks in our city. This show is hosted very close from our house and interestingly, we had a great view from our backyard.
This show is coordinated by our rocking radio station QMIX 107.3 and they ask everyone to blare their radios while the fireworks is orchestered to the music on the radio. So, we blared our radio in our backyard, layed out a few chairs, turned off all the lights and sat back and relaxed and watched the sky being lit in wonderful colors and sounds from the fireworks.
This is one of those few times our small city [Columbus IN] comes alive. almost the entire city was around our neighbourhood, and people had gotten their sheets, chairs and sat down on the grass in the open areas around our house. kids were wearing the lighted glasses and head bands and it felt like a party for the entire city.
Kiran managed to capture some excellent pictures, which I hope to add to this post soon. The best part is, our city hosts the fireworks in the same place every year....next time, we need to invite friends and family and enjoy this event.

Fireworks from our backyard!
